So what web services do we offer? PDF Print E-mail

We are a Porthcawl web design company specialising in Web site hosting,  design, domains, SSL certificates, Dedicated IP addresses and CMS Web site design. Predominantly covering the following areas; Bridgend, Porthcawl, Maesteg, Port Talbot, Swansea, Cardiff, Newport, Llanelli, Carmarthen.

We know that good web design is very personal. It all amounts to what each person likes. To that end we always endeavour to "listen" to our clients.

We begin our process by asking you to complete a small Website Planner Workbook. This ensures that we know from the outset what your likes and dislikes are. We even ask you to point out a few sites on the internet that you like and also some that you dislike. We believe in thorough consultation with our clients and proper planning of the website from the outset. With this in mind, at this point of the process we will also discuss/highlight your email & hostings requirements

So what kind of website do you need?

Whether you are in need of a basic personal website of a few pages or a small business requiring a small online brochure with the ability to have an e-commerce shop then ruontheweb are committed to providing this for you. Designed from scratch you can choose the type of look you want or have us come up with something especially for you. The choice is yours.

We realise that finding the company to produced your website is an important decision for a company or individual. There are other web design companies to choose from and there are some really "cool" sites around but these are often expensive.

We have attempted to keep our prices very affordable but still offer a good site that we hope will enable your business to increase and succeed.

There are also companies out there that offer cheap web design but often the quality of the designs are poor. We believe we are offering competitive prices and also good quality web design, services and support.

We are a small company but because of that you can be assured that we are dedicated to providing you with a quality website. We take whatever amount of time we need to fulfill our promises to you and provide you with the website you need and want together with exceptionally good service.

Web design is different than traditional print publishing. Every website is an information display container, just as a book is a container; and every web page is like the page in a book. However the end size and shape of the web page is not known to the web designer, whereas the print designer will know exactly what size paper he will be printing on.

For the typical web sites, the basic aspects of design are:

  • The content: the substance, and information on the site should be relevant to the site and should target the area of the public that the website is concerned with.
  • The usability: the site should be user-friendly, with the interface and navigation simple and reliable.
  • The appearance: the graphics and text should include a single style that flows throughout, to show consistency. The style should be professional, appealing and relevant.
  • The structure: of the web site as a whole.

A website typically consists of text, images, animation and /or video. The first page of a website is known as the Home page or Index Page. Some we sites use what is commonly called a Splash Page. Splash pages might include a welcome message, language or region selection, or disclaimer, however search engines, in general, favor websites that don't do this which has caused these types of pages to fall out of favor. Each web page within a website is a file which has its own URL. After each web page is created, they are typically linked together using a navigation menu composed of hyperlinks.

Once a website is completed, it must be published or uploaded in order to be viewable to the public over the internet. This may be done using an FTP client.
